HCM Consulting (Process)

OBJECTIVE

An eCommerce solutions provider required jurisdictional payroll tax registrations with their new FEIN. Employees were 100% working remotely with no office locations/addresses. State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) and State Income Tax (SIT) registrations were required for 36 states and local municipalities, as required for “lived-in” status.

SOLUTION

RCM prepared the jurisdictional tax applications to register for Tax IDs for SIT and SUI for each of the 36 states. Due to the residency of approximately 200 remote employees, additional applications/registrations for local municipalities were required. Some states also required business applications prior to other registrations could be processed and RCM prepared these on the client’s behalf. Applications were submitted online or completed and sent to the client to sign and mail, as required. Finalized Tax IDs were provided to client as registrations were completed.

BENEFITS

  • Eliminate the tedious and time-consuming task of jurisdictional registrations for the client
  • Allowed the client resources to maintain focus on the business
